If you enjoy the music we play and appreciate the service we provide to the people of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, please consider joining with us to insure that our concerts and other activities continue in the future. The Band is currently in the process of paying down the mortgage on its home, the Municipal Arts Center, and expects to retire this debt sometime in 2010. You can help us reach that goal even sooner by making a tax deductible contribution to our building fund. A donation of $1,000 or $500 or $50 or any amount you prefer will be appreciated and will help us reach our goal of being debt-free as soon as possible. Make your check payable to the Municipal Band, clearly marked “Building Fund” and send it to P. O. Box 6563, Charlottesville, VA 22906-6563. We thank you very much!

It is another of our goals, once our mortgage has been paid off, to establish an endowment fund to help us grow and thrive in the future. An endowment will assure that we can continue our proud tradition of free concerts to the public, regardless of economic fluctuations or reduced public funding. It will also allow us to maintain the Municipal Arts Center as a place where all arts organizations in the community can find rehearsal space or a place to hold recitals and other functions. Finally, an endowment will permit the Band to grow and provide quality band music to the community in new and exciting ways such as via small group ensembles, public school and other educational programs, and appearances across the State and region. If you would like to contribute to our endowment, please make your tax deductible check payable to the Municipal Band, clearly mark it “Endowment Fund” and send it to the address shown above.

Finally, if you would like to help the band in other ways, both financial or with your time and talent, please contact our Music Director, Steve Layman, or our Fund Raising Coordinator, Scott Colley, to discuss ways in which you can assist. Some possibilities could include—but are not limited to—such things as the purchase of new music for the Band, the replacement or repair of equipment and instruments, maintenance on the Municipal Arts Center, ushering at concerts, advertising in our concert programs, or inviting us to perform at your home or function.

However you choose to support the Municipal Band and the Municipal Arts Center, we thank you and sincerely appreciate your help and contributions!
